Dynamic Goal-Setting Session Held for Cocoa Processors in Soufriere Under the ‘One Community, One Product’ Initiative
The Marketing Unit, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Local Branding Advisor, hosted a transformative goal-setting session on November 7 in Soufriere as part of the One Community, One Product (OCOP) initiative. This program focuses on developing robust local brands, empowering local processors, and driving economic growth while fostering a strong sense of community pride.
Cocoa product processors from the region participated in an in-depth analysis of the business environment and engaged in strategic goal-setting activities. These discussions provided critical insights to inform the design of tailored technical training programs that meet the unique needs of local producers.
The session featured a compelling lecture from the JICA Local Branding Advisor, offering key insights into brand fundamentals and setting the stage for the development of successful local brands. This effort marks a significant step toward creating a shared cocoa product brand for Soufriere, designed to amplify the distinctiveness of each processor’s offerings while uniting them under a cohesive regional identity.
Looking ahead to early 2025, the Marketing Unit and the Branding Advisor will continue this collaborative journey with group work sessions aimed at refining the shared brand and enhancing the value of local cocoa products.
This initiative underscores the Ministry’s commitment to building, strengthening, and celebrating local brands, paving the way for economic resilience and community pride.
