MARKETING UNIT

The Marketing Unit was formed in March 1999.  Since its formation it has undergone numerous changes.  It was then called Agri-Enterprise Development Section of the Corporate Planning Unit with a view to function as a Food Production Department of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Our services are grouped under three major areas: Field Services, Quality and Food Safety, and Product Development and Commercialization to help farmers, fishermen and food processors are prosperous and profitable. This is achieved using the value chain approach.

Support to Processors

  • Support was provided to three (3) processors with the design of their installations.
  • Guidance was provided with the floor plans to ensure HACCP, GMP compliance and compliance to global food safety standards.
  • Support was provided with the financial projections for eight processors and farmers, during the period some of these were start ups.
  • Book keeping records are kept for one honey producer.
  • Support was provided to Six processors with the development of grant proposals.
  • General support was provided to processors as requested.
