The Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF)

 

The Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF) in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries executed a year-long project titled “Enhancing the effective management of Savannes Bay within the Pointe Sable Environmental Protection Area (PSEPA) to support livelihoods and protect biodiversity” , which was funded by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) through the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) Program. Part of this assignment entailed the creation of promotional materials – a jingle, an animation, posters and a 15-minute documentary – to build awareness and inform on sustainable usage of the Savannes Bay area to minimize conflict amongst its users, namely fisherfolk, seamoss farmers, beach users, tourism users and the wider public on sustainable seamoss production and use of resources within the Savannes Bay. These items were launched officially on January 31, 2025
