FOREST ADMINISTRATION
Forest Administration is responsible for Organizational strengthening, which the fifth Strategy 5 of the Objectives of the Forestry Division´s strategic plan (2015- 2025). In this regard admin is responsible to review and strengthen the organizational structure and work practices and building the capacity of its personnel to implement Strategies 1 to 4:
Strategy 1: Maintaining healthy ecosystems and thriving species.
Strategy 2. Ensuring sustainable flows of products that support both local economies and conservation of biodiversity.
Strategy 3. Protecting water supplies, soils, and coastal zones and ensuring resilience to climate change.
Strategy 4: Promoting visitation, enjoyment, and cultural and spiritual enrichment.

Core Values and Beliefs
- Saint Lucia’s forests, waters, wildlife and habitats are vital for the social, economic and cultural well-being of the country. They should be preserved and wisely used for the enjoyment and benefit of future generations.
- Saint Lucia is home to many species that occur nowhere else in the world. We have a special responsibility to ensure that these unique plants and animals survive and thrive.
- All citizens have the right to enjoy the sustained benefits of well-managed forest and wildlife resources. Equally, they have a duty to exercise responsibility to ensure that these unique plants and animals survive and thrive.
- Forest trees outside the forests have an important role to play in conservation and sustainable development.
- The work of the Department should not adversely impact upon the poorest sectors of society and should wherever possible bring benefits to those whose livelihoods depend on the use of natural resources.
