Saint Lucia’s forests and environment are important resources for raising awareness about a wide range of environmental and social issues such as the intrinsic value of nature and how intact forests and watersheds contribute to the social and economic well-being of Saint Lucia. 

Awareness and environmental education are important elements of the entire department’s work and are integrated into projects and plans and under all strategies. Raising awareness is important for visitors and tourists and essential for all stakeholders, decision-makers, and the wider public. The Department ensures that all stakeholders are aware of our work and the benefits that it brings to Saint Lucia; this is necessary to improve support and ensures cooperation with our partners.
