The Ministry of Agriculture and Independence Committee are proud to announce the upcoming Independence Seafood Fest on February 22nd, 2023. This event promises to be a unique opportunity to celebrate Saint Lucia’s rich seafood culture while highlighting the benefits of the fisheries sector to the economy and the environment.

The festival will take place at the Fisheries Complex and will offer a wide selection of vendors demonstrating their culinary expertise. Visitors can expect a range of delectable seafood offerings, including grilled fish, succulent lobster, conch, shrimp, and other delicacies. The event will run from 10 am to 8 pm, with a designated kids’ zone and continuous live entertainment by local musicians and performers.

Phillip Sydney, the Senior Communications Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, has expressed his excitement about the festival, stating that “the festival really showcases the best of Saint Lucia’s seafood culture and demonstrates the various possibilities that can be done here on the island.” He also added, “There will be entertainment galore, we will have a day to be remembered.”

The Independence Seafood Fest is expected to draw a large crowd, and organizers have taken measures to ensure that the event is safe and enjoyable for everyone. This festival promises to be a fun-filled day for all and a great way to commemorate Saint Lucia’s independence and the country’s rich seafood culture.
