Soufriere Cocoa Product Processors to Strengthen Their Brand Identity

 Following the success of the recent workshop in Micoud, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security, and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is bringing the Brand Identity Establishment Workshop to Soufriere. This initiative aims to develop a unified and recognizable brand identity for local cocoa products, enhancing their marketability and consumer appeal.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

  • Date & Venue: Tuesday 18, February 2025 at the Parish Center, Fond St. Jacques, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Objective: Empower local agro-processors and community to develop a distinct brand identity, increasing product and community recognition and consumer trust.
  • Who Should Attend? Processors of cocoa products in Soufriere.
  • Expert Insights: Participants will learn from the successful branding case of a rural village in Japan that was revitalized by local agricultural products.
  • Market Positioning: Through analysis, attendees will assess the business environment, identify target customers, and refine their competitive advantage.
  • Customer Segmentation & Targeting: The workshop will guide participants in defining ideal consumer groups, ensuring marketing efforts align with customer needs.
  • Brand Development: Attendees will work on positioning maps, association mapping, and core brand messaging, leading to a cohesive brand identity for Soufriere’s cocoa products.

This initiative aligns with the One Community One Product (OCOP) approach, supporting local entrepreneurship and sustainable market growth. By establishing a shared branding strategy, local products can gain credibility, increase sales, and enhance Soufriere’s reputation as a hub for high-quality agro-products.

By focusing on sea moss products and coconut oil in Micoud, along with cocoa products in Soufriere, this will be achieved by:
