Strengthening Farming from the Ground Up in Choiseul

Strengthening Farming from the Ground Up in Choiseul

January 29, 2026

Farmers in Choiseul are now better equipped to improve soil health, boost productivity, and build resilience to climate impacts following a hands-on agricultural machinery training under the Building Resilience for Adaptation to Climate Change and Climate Variability in Agriculture in Saint Lucia (BRACCCVAS) Project.

The training delivered immediate, practical benefits by introducing farmers to modern tillage equipment, while building local capacity for shared access and long-term sustainability. Participants gained a clearer understanding of how improved soil preparation enhances water retention, nutrient uptake, and crop growth, laying the foundation for stronger, more climate-resilient farming systems.

This initiative reflects a continued commitment to empowering farmers with the right tools, skills, and knowledge to protect livelihoods and strengthen national food security.
