The watermelon festival was hosted for the second time at constitution park in Castries on the 6^th of July 2022. The purpose of the festival was to increase consumer awareness of different varieties of watermelons, honeydew and cantaloupe. This would also allow the project to understand how consumers gravitate towards the different varieties so the project can better assist farmers in finding the variety which suits the environment and consumer tastes and preferences. At the festival eight varieties of watermelon (black queen & sweet robin, sweet beauty, factor, prime seedless, new draon, empire No.2, extreme, and five cantaloupes & honeydew(Yuki lady, flourish, autum favor, Lamkin, honey world, sheba was on display and thus provided passerby’s and consumers with all the diversification in colors, texture, shapes, size and Brix content. Already black queen which is orange-yellowish inside has gained much popularity at the festival because of its sweetness and texture.
